Stress, by Constitution
Stress is not one thing. It takes the shape of the person it moves through.
Classical Ayurveda does not treat stress as a single condition with a single answer. It reads the form the strain takes. Vata frets. Pitta burns. Kapha sinks. Three constitutions, three faces of the same pressure β and three different ways back.
01 Β· The Pattern
Three constitutions under pressure
The dosha that leads in a person is the dosha that tips first under strain. Knowing which one is the difference between an answer that lands and one that misses.
Vata Β· air
The mind races
Worry, anxiety, a thought that will not settle. The signature is movement β too much of it, with nowhere to land.
Pitta Β· fire
The temper flares
Irritability, frustration, heat that rises fast. The signature is intensity β sharp, hot, quick to burn.
Kapha Β· earth
The weight settles
Low mood, heaviness, a reluctance to move. The signature is stagnation β slow, sunk, hard to lift.
02 Β· Three States, Three Answers
An oil and a formula for each
Each state meets two things: an essential oil, chosen for how its chemistry moves the body-mind, and a MyVeda formula, built in samyoga to work on the constitution from within. The oil works through breath and skin. The formula works through the tissues. Together they address the state from both directions.
Vata β the racing mind
For the anxious, unsettled mind, the classical direction is to ground. Sandalwood carries Ξ±- and Ξ²-santalol β a slow, woody base note that has been used for centuries to quieten mental chatter and draw a scattered attention back to the body. CalmVeda 23 meets the same restlessness from within: twenty-three herbs led by Arjuna and Brahmi, with pearl prepared as mukta pishti at its cooling centre.
Pitta β the temper that flares
For heat and irritability, the direction is to cool. Roman Chamomile is almost pure ester β isobutyl and isoamyl angelate β the softest, most quietly soothing chemistry in the materia, classically turned to when the temper runs hot and short. UnwindVeda 52 works the same heat from within, settling the nervous system and the emotional body across the pitta layer.
Kapha β the weight that settles
For heaviness and low mood, the direction is to lift and move. Bergamot carries linalyl acetate and limonene β the bright, green-citrus chemistry of the oil long called the sunshine note, uplifting without stimulating. UpliftVeda 41 answers the same stagnation from within, rebuilding the seat of ojas where classical reading places the root of low mood.
03 Β· Which One Leads
Reading the form, not the feeling
Most people carry two doshas, and modern life raises Vata in everyone β so a hard week can read as anxiety whatever the underlying constitution. The classical guidance is to judge by the form the strain takes when it comes, not by the feeling of a single bad day. The mind that races wants grounding. The temper that flares wants cooling. The weight that settles wants lifting. The oil and the formula follow the form.
