Ravintsara Essential Oil
Cinnamomum camphora cineoliferum
Fresh clarity from the camphor tree
Distilled from the leaves of the camphor tree growing in Madagascar, Ravintsara essential oil is valued for its bright, clarifying aroma and refreshing character.
This unique 1,8-cineole chemotype of Cinnamomum camphora produces an essential oil that feels both invigorating and gently uplifting. Often compared to eucalyptus or cineole-rich rosemary, Ravintsara offers a softer, rounder aromatic profile that makes it particularly pleasant to diffuse.
Traditionally appreciated during periods of seasonal change, Ravintsara is widely used to refresh the air and support a sense of clear, comfortable breathing.

About the Plant
Ravintsara is the Malagasy name for the camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora) growing in Madagascar. The island’s climate produces a distinctive cineole-rich chemotype, making Ravintsara one of the most respected essential oils used in aromatic practices.
The oil is obtained through steam distillation of the fresh leaves, capturing the vibrant and refreshing aromatic character of the plant.
Ravintsara should not be confused with Ravensara (Ravensara aromatica), which is a different species with a different chemical profile.
The Oshadhi Difference
At Oshadhi, essential oils are sourced with careful attention to origin, harvest and distillation. Our Ravintsara oil is distilled in Madagascar from carefully harvested leaves, preserving the purity and aromatic integrity of this remarkable tree.
