About the Plant

The Jojoba shrub is an evergreen shrub native to the deserts of North America and is considered a true survivor there. It has a taproot up to 3 meters long to reach the cool water and needs only about 20 ml of precipitation per year to survive. Its fruits are green, elongated to oval capsules containing one to three seeds. The oil has a golden-yellow oil with a mild scent is obtained from the ripe seeds.

Properties: Biochemically, jojoba oil is a liquid wax. At room temperature, the wax achieves a liquid consistency; it solidifies in the refrigerator. Its great advantage: it is long-lasting and does not quickly become rancid. The oil has a high content of proven lipidic compounds such as phytosterols, the vitamin E complex, provitamin A, and squalene. Thus, the oil protects against UV rays, environmental influences, and free radicals. Furthermore, it is very moisturizing, absorbs quickly, and nourishes all skin types.

Usage: The versatile jojoba oil is processed into skincare, haircare, and nail care products. It can be combined well with other plant oils/fats as a cosmetic raw material.

Jojoba Oil is suitable for all skin types. Highly rejuvenating and penetrative, it softens and moisturizes mature and dry skin. Jojoba oil soaks into the skin quickly without leaving a greasy residue, so it is ideal as a facial oil or body oil. It has anti-oxidant properties; mixed with other oils, it prevents them from going rancid. Indefinite shelf life even when stored at room temperature.
