Frankincense Essential Oil (Organic)

Boswellia carterii

Deep, resinous and quietly uplifting, Organic Franks distilled from the aromatic resin of Boswellia carterii, a tree that grows in the arid landscapes of Somalia. For thousands of years, frankincense has been treasured as one of the world’s most sacred aromatic materials, valued in spiritual traditions, natural perfumery and botanical wellness practices.

Our organic Frankincense is obtained by steam distillation of the resin “tears” that naturally exude from the bark of the Boswellia tree. The resulting oil releases a warm, balsamic fragrance with soft woody and slightly citrus-like nuances that bring depth and clarity to aromatic blends.

Revered since ancient times, frankincense has been used in ceremonial rituals, meditation practices and traditional botanical preparations. Its timeless aroma continues to inspire moments of reflection, grounding and inner stillness.

Traditional & Aromatic Uses

Frankincense has long been valued for its centering and contemplative aroma.

It is commonly used:

• in meditation and relaxation blends
• in diffuser blends designed to create calm environments
• in natural perfumery as a warm resinous base note
• in botanical skincare preparations

Botanical Background

Frankincense is obtained from trees of the genus Boswellia, which grow in dry mountainous regions of the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. When the bark of the tree is gently tapped, aromatic resin forms and slowly hardens into golden “tears.”

These resin tears have been traded for thousands of years along ancient caravan routes and were among the most valuable aromatic materials of the ancient world.

The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the resin.
