Benzoin Siam Resinoid (55% in organic alcohol)

$11.00

Description: Benzoin has a rich aroma reminiscent of vanilla, which provides an emotionally comforting quality. It can be used as a fixative in perfumery where it blends particularly well with rose.

What is a Resinoid? With the absolute and the resinoid a solvent is used to extract the volatile compounds from the resin. However in the case of the resinoid you then add alcohol to make it liquid, and in the case of the Absolute it undergoes a further chemical process which removes the waxes, thereby making it liquid.

changing my rating

I wrote the previous review but forgot to add the star rating, so it shows as 5 stars erroneously: I meant to put it at 1 star: as the company does a good job shipping, and the oil arrived well packaged and in a good bottle. So 1 star for that. But the Benzoin Siam Resinoid has barely any scent when inhaling the fumes form the bottle, and when applied to the skin diluted in a carrier oil in a 1 to 5 ratio, it has no scent at all> Frustrated I found that even dabbing it straight on the skin using a q-tip with no carrier oil, the imperceptible scent fades within seconds to a non-scent, so it is basically a no scent item! Not worth it to spend your money on.

not enough scent

This Benzoin Siam resinoid was shipped quickly, arrived well packaged, and in a nice bottle. But there is basically no scent. It is thin enough to go through the dropper, which is odd, for a Benzoin Resin is usually too thick to go through a dropper and has to be warmed in hot water to pour. It has an almost imperceptible scent; you can barely smell it when you sniff the bottle! After I diluted it (1 to 5 ratio) in a carrier oil and applied to my wrist, I could smell nothing at all. There was absolutely no scent being applied at all. It was basically a waste of money as it has no scent and I bought something that does nothing and smells like nothing!

Liquid error (templates/product line 3): Error in tag 'section' - 'product-recommendations' is not a valid section type
