About the Plant

Cocoa butter is derived from the seeds of the cocoa tree, scientifically known as Theobroma cacao. This tree is native to the tropical regions of Central and South America, where it thrives in humid climates with rich, well-drained soil. The cocoa tree bears large, colorful pods containing cocoa beans, from which cocoa butter is extracted. Cocoa butter has been utilized for centuries by indigenous cultures for its rich moisturizing properties and its use in culinary and cosmetic applications.

Properties: Cocoa butter is renowned for its luxurious texture and rich emollient properties. It is solid at room temperature but melts upon contact with the skin, providing a smooth and creamy consistency. High in saturated fats, primarily stearic and oleic acids, cocoa butter offers excellent hydration and nourishment to the skin. It forms a protective barrier that helps retain moisture, making it particularly beneficial for dry and sensitive skin. Additionally, cocoa butter contains antioxidants, such as polyphenols, which help combat free radicals and promote skin health. Its subtle chocolate aroma adds to its allure, making it a popular ingredient in various skincare and cosmetic formulations.

Usage: Cocoa Butter is a rich, emollient butter that creates a barrier on the skin to prevent moisture loss. It is traditionally used during pregnancy to prevent stretch marks. Deeply nourishing for dry hands, elbows, knees, and feet. Carry our 30 mL mini in your pocket for softening lips on the go.

General Information: Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
